NSAID creams may beat pills

A new study suggests that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) creams are better than pills for treating chronic knee pain. In the study, researchers at Queen Mary University of London looked at 585 people over age 50 and found that the NSAID creams worked as well as NSAID pills at relieving the patients' pain. The creams also caused fewer side effects such as indigestion, higher blood pressure, and increased asthma symptoms.
