Drugmaker Eli Lilly is reporting that its antidepressant Cymbalta significantly reduced pain in people suffering from osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in a new study. According to a company press release, 65 percent of the study's OA patients who took Cymbalta experienced a clinically significant (at least 30 percent) improvement in pain, compared with 44 percent of the OA patients who were given a placebo.
