One sleep researcher thinks that oxygen deprivation may cause short-term memory loss in people with sleep apnea. A doctor from the University of Los Angeles California scanned the brains of people with the nighttime breathing disorder. He found that the part of the brain that stores memories was significantly smaller in sleep apnea patients.
