Boomers are the new 'hip-op' generation

Hip replacements were once an operation for elderly people who had
suffered falls and serious breaks. But statistics suggest that more
and more Baby Boomers are getting hip replacements to ease the pain
and reduced mobility caused by osteoarthritis and other conditions
that cause chronic pain. British reporter Jane Wheatley examines
this trend, one that experts believe may be driven by both improved
implant technology and an aging population that wants to remain
physically active well into old age.
