Silver ring splints may ease RA

British researchers have found that a kind of finger splint made
from silver rings may help prevent deformities in the fingers of
people who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The silver ring
splints are designed to be a more attractive and durable splint
choice than commonly used bulky plastic splints. In a recent study,
the silver splints were effective at keeping RA patients' finger
joints stable, and they helped prevent hyperextension deformities
in the fingers.
