Study: New arthritis drug better for blood pressure than naproxen

According to drugmaker NicOx, the company's experimental arthritis drug naproxcinod was shown to be more beneficial for blood pressure than naproxen, a commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), in a recent study. Doctors have long known that NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and naproxen raise users' blood pressure. But in a head-to-head study of the new drug naproxcinod and naproxen, researchers found that naproxcinod was better at helping patients with osteoarthritis control their blood pressure than the older drug.  Read full story >
