Study: New arthritis drug better for blood pressure than naproxen

According to drugmaker NicOx, the company's experimental arthritis drug naproxcinod was shown to be more beneficial for blood pressure than naproxen, a commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), in a recent study. Doctors have long known that NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and naproxen raise users' blood pressure. But in a head-to-head study of the new drug naproxcinod and naproxen, researchers found that naproxcinod was better at helping patients with osteoarthritis control their blood pressure than the older drug.
