    New RA drug enters midstage trial

    (Forbes) UPDATED 2009-09-30
    Drugmaker Vertex Pharmaceuticals is reporting that it will begin a midstage clinical trial on an experimental drug for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The drug, currently known as VX-509, will be tested on about 200 patients, company officials say. The study will start in the first quarter of 2010 and will assess the drug's safety, tolerability, and effectiveness.  Read full story >
