FDA approves RA testing kits

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a testing kit designed to detect the early signs of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The kit's makers say it can identify antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptides (anti-CCP), which appear in the blood long before the onset of RA symptoms. This early detection can help patients begin treatment before damage is done by the disease.
