Use of Rituxan by early RA sufferers rejected

The use of the rheumatoid arthritis (RA) drug Rituxan by people in the early stages of the disease has been rejected by U.S. health regulators. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration based their recommendation not to allow the expanded use of Rituxan because of a risk for the potentially fatal brain disease, progressive multifocal leukeoencephalopathy, which has been linked to taking the drug.
