Forteo better than Fosamax for steroid-related bone loss: study

Results from a new study suggest that the osteoporosis drug Forteo is better at increasing bone density and reducing spine fractures in people who have glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis than the drug Fosamax. Glucocorticoids are steroids contained in drugs to treat such conditions as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, Crohn's disease, and lupus.
