Should You Be Taking Supplements?

Experts at The American Dietetic Association have updated their guidelines on supplements to stress that eating nutrient-rich foods--and not popping pills--is the best way to get necessary nutrients and reduce your risk of disease. These experts say the vitamins and minerals in foods are better for the body, and that relying on foods for these compounds helps reduce people's risk of "megadosing" on vitamins, which can be hazardous.
