New Painkiller May Fight Colon Cancer

According to a new study, an experimental form of the painkiller naproxen--the active ingredient in the over-the-counter drug Aleve--interferes with a molecular process that causes colon cancer. This study adds to previous research that linked painkiller use to reduced colon cancer risk, though scientists say this new form of naproxen is even more effective than standard naproxen at preventing the development of colorectal tumors.  Read full story >
