Synthetic Joint Lubricant Helps Relieve Knee Pain: Study

According to a new study, people who have arthroscopic surgery for a cartilage tear fare much better when the doctor also injects the joint with the synthetic joint lubricant Hyalgan. The study, which is published in a recent issue of the American Journal of Orthopedics, found that patients who got the injections had significantly less pain, greater range of motion, and less swelling than patients given a placebo.  Read full story >
