Obesity in Young Adulthood Boosts Psoriatic Arthritis Risk

According to new study, people who are obese at age 18 have a higher risk of developing psoriatic arthritis than people who are normal weight at this age. In the study of more than 900 psoriasis patients, researchers found that predictors of psoriatic arthritis included being female, having larger body areas affected by the skin condition, body mass index, and younger age of psoriasis onset. But the earliest onset of psoriatic arthritis was found in people who were overweight or obese.  Read full story >
