High Heels Shrink Calf Muscles: Study

British scientists have found that women who wear high heels have calf muscles that are, on average, 13 percent shorter than women who do not wear this type of shoe. High heels also lead to stiffer tendons in the calves, the investigators found. The researchers say this finding may explain why high-heel wearers often find it painful to wear flat shoes.  Read full story >
