Drugmaker Issues Painkiller Recall Due to Labeling Error
(All Headline News) UPDATED 2011-06-27
Qualitest Pharmaceuticals has issued a voluntary recall of some of its pain medications because a labeling error may have caused medications to be placed in the wrong bottles. The recall affects butalbital, acetaminophen, and caffeine tablets USP, 50mg/325mg/40mg, and hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen tablets, USP 7.5mg/500mg. The labeling issue could cause patients to unintentionally take butalbital and caffeine instead of hydrocodone (acetaminophen is in both meds), thus potentially placing them at risk.
