Addison's Disease

(Page 2)

So the best thing you can do is be monitored closely by your doctor to make sure you are always on proper doses of medication. In addition, many doctors recommend that patients with Addison's disease take calcium and vitamin D supplements, don't smoke, get regular weight-bearing exercise, and have periodic bone density tests to watch for bone loss. Treatment is available if bone loss occurs. Regular eye exams and checks of blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides would also be a good idea. Working with your doctors, you can successfully treat Addison's disease while avoiding side effects of the medicines you take for it.
