Mrs. Dukakis is one extrodinary human being.  I can't imagine going through what she did only to find out that the answer was there the whole time .    ECT has been seen as radical by some in the medical establishment , mostly for deppression and somewhat rarely for schizophrenia.

I want to thank both Robin Cunningham and Kitty Dukakis for letting people know that ECT can be effective and is not barbaric as some folks think it is today. I too had ECT treatments on two different occassions in my life. The first was in 1983 and the next was in 1986. I was given these treatments when the various medications failed me. I also want to thank Kitty for writing a book on her experiences with ECT Treatments. I for one know how these treatments have improved over the years.
