   You raise an interesting philosophical point.  If a person is at risk for taking a certain drug, is the risk worth the chance if the drug is effective in controlling symptoms.       Cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy experience tremendous discomfort, yet they choose to have the treatment .          In other words , if something works for schizophrenia  if the odds are in your favor (that is,you do not have a conflicting medical condition) the tendency would be to go with it .

I agree with both you and Don concerning Haldol. while the drug did not work for me I realize it has helped many patients. I would be curious to see if there were other factors that could have caused the death or deaths of the various patients. With all drugs a person with their doctor must decide whether or not a drug's benefits out weighs its side effects.
