Hello,

Something bugs me about the Omega-3 fish oil connection because this supplement is touted to benefit a number of health conditions.

I take it at night with dinner as a preventive measure to keep my heart healthy, as recommended by my primary care doctor.

Yet I wonder if it was the cause of the end of my SAD or seasonal affective disorder.  I don't remember exactly when I started taking the Omega-3 fish oil (though it was over five years ago).  However, I do remember that when Dr. Altman raised the Stelazine from 5 mg to 10 mg in July 2003 I stopped having seasonal affective disorder.

Could this have been about the time I started taking the Omega-3 fish oil?

I'm going to ask my pdoc about this when I see him in a week.  I'll report back what I find out.

At any rate, I eat salmon and scallops every week, and both have Omega-3 fatty acids, as well as taking the Omega-3 supplement.  You can get the kind of supplement that is purified to eliminate mercury.

I wonder about this connection.  I'm going to research this further and tell everyone what I find out.

Regards,

Christina
