Would you like to attend the Beijing Olympics? Forget about it if you have a mental illness or HIV/AIDS. You won't be let in. The actual wording of the rule bars entry to those with "mental diseases" or contagious conditions. Homosexuality was considered a mental illness and didn't make it out of...

Didn't John Lennon sing "Imagine." You've talked about the mentally ill in other countries, but America has work to do too. I know a couple, the wife is mentally ill. She's had at least 5 serious sucide attempts. Recently while in the local psychiatric unit she was told to leave because her insurance company decided she didn't need treatment. Closer to home my own insurance won't pay for ECT's but I can get a prosthetic wig. My son who needs treatment greatly becuase he has no money and the state medicaid won't pick him up. I understand the abuse we sustain here and abroad. We all need to stand up, be counted, and more importantly be heard.

    Hi Dave,

Originally, for this blog entry, I quoted "Imagine," and then decided not to.

    Great minds think alike, huh?

Also, I had included a reference to the U.S., and took it out, too.

I hope against hope that in the next administration in the White House, universal healthcare is passed into law.

It is unconscionable that billions have been spent on the war in Iraq, and in America, people go homeless, psychotic and uninsured.

    I'm angry indeed.

    Chris
