Found your post so informing, and encouraging, Christina,Thank you!
This post and several recent posts from others are giving me ideas for my next share post.... There seem to be linked themes here of strong survival , living life with honest insight, (backed up of course by the essential requirement of carefully tailored medication and a knowledgable support system)
That last is so obviously sadly lacking to many, a recent realisation, the size of which is just dawning on me, such a burden of anguish and suffering for those affected and their families in parts of the world where proper health care is not available or cannot be afforded.
Still I am hopeful that for our son there will be a good outlook, once he can start on some treatment...This site is really heartwarming and encouraging as well as full of info.
Best wishes

Yes, I have to agree, medication changed my life. Since the advent of the "atypical"drugs several years ago I know that a lot of people have had life -altering experiences due to meds.
I was given a chronic diagnosis, that is , having an illness with no hope of recovery. But my family stepped in and got me to a specialist. As you may have guessed , I am quite well these days, only four years after starting a new drug regime.
Like yourself, there are many people who benefit from a second opinion and don't have to be stuck on the old medications forever.
Thanks for sharing

Yes, peace of mind is what Zyprexa has always given me over the years. That's why I always end up going back to it -- the other antipsychotics just don't do that for me. I am so grateful my doctor prescribed Zyprexa 11 yrs ago, even though I hate the side effects.
