This season is depressing me to no end. I am even tired of the music. I went to my "express lane pdoc" to get my shot. He asked me what was new. I said I am depressed and he said "that's because you need the shot, please pay on the way out." I am still depressed 18 hours after the "shot." I know it takes time to filter through my arm, but maybe there's something more to it. My pdoc won't know. I am a bit confused by that. Isn't he supposed to at least ask why?
I will medicate myself and get therapy other places. My dentist gives me more therapy...hmm I think I have a cavity. My physican also gives me therapy. I find that odd..don't you? So if you need mental health help don't go to a pdoc see your dentist.
So why do I continue to see him? Funny you should ask. He is the only one my insurance will pay. Well in my case..not pay. From what I can't understand he gets paid then the insurance makes him send it back! I have to call Albany to find the reason, so when my pdoc sends me a huge bill I can save enough bottle deposit money to pay for it. So much for that jet ski I had my eye on.
So in the meantime I will sit and find ways to try and get undepressed. Suduko puzzles and baking cookies will help some. Maybe a music change too. I'm tired of Burl Ives signing Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. Maybe some ACDC singing "For those About to Rock."
Merry Christmas cyberworld. May your stockings be filled toys and that cavity taken care of.
David...the depressed one.

Hi David,
I do wish you could see another doctor.
Round here people go through the trash cans collecting bottles to get the refund money for. You see women and men scrounging in the trash bins with a shopping cart full of huge bags of bottles and cans.
It isn't right that you have to see this insensitive doctor. I would explore finding someone else if you haven't done that lately.
Only: a lot of us get depressed at the holidays. He should have shown more concern. Well you have come to the right place: SchizophreniaConnection: for a dose of cheer.
Well: I really do not like AC/DC at all. I listened to a Norah Jones CD last night that featured Norah Jones singing with other artists. I bought it in Starbucks for $14. I also downloaded the Michael Jackson CD This Is It that features music from his documentary film of the same name.
You might want to explore if you have the money downloading music from iTunes or else Amazon's MP3 catalog. Amazon's download service might be cheaper than iTunes and you can download that music to your iTunes library too.
Have a happy and healthy holiday and new year!
Cheers,
Christina
Thanks Christina for your support. I don't like ACDC either. The music I listen to now is totally different than my teenage years. I listen to soothing quiet music like IL Divo, Josh Groban, Susan Boyle, Michael Buble.
I wish I could get a new pdoc but no one else here accepts my insurance.
I am glad that the Connection is here for us. I come here seeking support and almost always get it.
Have a great Christmas Christina!
David
