Dear Amber it was not my intention to make you feel bad. I'm sure those of us that made comments were only trying to offer you some support. It is ultimately your decision what's best for you. This site is a good resource and a nice comfortable place to come and find support. I am truly sorry that you feel bad.

    respectfully,

    Dave

I too would like to echo what David said to you. I too do not want to pressure anyone into taking medicine if they do not want to. I for one just wanted to let you know how medicine can help some folks living with a Mental Illness.

I would like to encourage you to see a professional and see what they think is best for you.

Medications have worked well for me and I am very thankful I live in a period of time that we have medications available that can help people like myself.

It is your life so do what you think is best for you!

    Hello amberautumn,

I am sorry if I came across in an unkind way.

As you could tell, I'm biased towards taking medication because it has helped me greatly.

Your choice not to take meds is yours alone, you have that right.

I hope you will consider posting here in the future.

We want only the best for you.

    Best wishes,

    Chris

    Hi Amber:

I have been doing research online and there are a lot of articles, recommended books and treatment alternatives.  There are also research studies reporting successful treatment without drugs.

It sounds like therapy is really important.  I hope you're seeing a therapist.

My son seems to be handling his symptoms very well without medicine.  I still wish he would use anti-anxiety medication when he feels stressed...or the occassional aspirin for a head ache!

I hope you are doing well.  There are studies that say recovery is as high as 68%!

    Cindy
