Habit becomes second nature, but i think it's more effective if a person makes a strong decision to think and act in a certain manner before the episode actually takes place.
A person can imagine himself on a battlefield, and he's fighting for his life. Either he must die or his enemy must die. (the negetive habit or thought)
And little by little a person really is successful in overcoming his bad thoughts or habit. But, of course, it takes sincerity and an iron will. Sometimes it can take years, but well worth it.
Even much suffering is worth while in doing the right thing.

Thanks for your input. It does take years because of the broad scope of change that is needed in the thought processes. It does not seem like it is something that can be avoided initially but can be overcome with time. There is no merit in having symptoms of sz but there is merit in overcoming it but there is something to say for the suffering that it causes even though the object is to not suffer from it. I wonder just how much doctors understand about it.
