I started doing yoga in highschool and still use one meditation technique that the teacher taught us. You light a candle, sit straight and stare at the flame. Look at the flame and breathe deeply. Then after a couple of minutes cup your hands over your closed eyes and see the afterglow.
I do that alot.
In my early twenties I went to Integral yoga alot because I lived in the neighborhood. I'd buy an unlimited card and take three classes a day.
I still see the spirit of Swami Satchidananda. I still go to Integral yoga once in awhile even though I live way uptown.
I go to Sivananda school once in awhile aswell.
I've gone to Jivamukti, which I thought was a bit extreme and insane.
But I enjoy their kirtans.(Chanting)
I mostly go to Bally's gym up in the Bronx and in Manhattan.
My favorite teacher is a Ms. Om, I always get a kick out of her.
Yoga is for everyone, a yawn and stretch,a sunrise and a sunset.
Yoga is fun, and you don't have to be so flexible, just attempting the postures promots all the benefits.
