Battery charged

By earlyriser Monday, February 28, 2011

I got my battery charged at church and at the ARP group.

I was running around church trying to set up tables and chairs in the gym for a potluck dinner. Then I had to set up equipment to show two movies. As I was trying to get the dvd player going I couldn't figure it out. Finally after a long fight I conceded and asked for help. Well what do you know the two of us got it up and running. Its amazing how the power of asking for help can make loads light.

At the ARP group last night I wanted (and did) to whine and moan about my recent admission. Those people really know how to get me to see that even though I had a minor setback, I still made huge strides.

I am going to start taking time to relax. Margaret and I have to pick-up our glasses this morning. I am glad because I am blind in one eye and can't see out the other...LOL!! While up at the mall I want to buy some relaxing music with no words. While in the hospital there was a group was about "visualization" techiques. They played music and read a story. It brought back a scene from my childhood. I am going to write about that scene for a visualization story of my own.

I must go off and have some kitchen therapy.

OH Wait!! From what I was told the church loved the idea of the cooking class and wants to expand it!! How cool is that!!! I talked to one young man that was there and he wants to make it when he goes on his mission!!

I wish you all the best day possible.

Peace.

Hi David,

The Captain you quote got it right: follow-through is the secret to succeeding at any endeavor.

It's good to hear from you.  I'll go read your other posts.

Have a good day.

Regards,

Christina

Doesn't it feel great to have a fully charged battery?  If you're like me, you've gone along a lot of times with barely enough energy to make it through the day.  Your story about asking for help reminds me of one of my favorite sayings: A burden shared is a burden halved.  Same way with a project.

I wish my church would have cooking classes.  They have ceramics classes, upholstery classes, all kinds of crafts, but not cooking.  And I don't know enough about it to start one myself.  When I had my own house and a huge kitchen, cooking was one of my favorite pastimes.  But now, I have no counter space, nowhere to knead bread, no room to spread out and do anything.  Maybe I need to get a rolling cart of some kind?

Donna,

Does your church have a kitchen? If so you could teach a class. You stated that cooking was one of your favorite pastimes. I say go for it!

I wish you the best. I appreciate your comments to my shareposts.

Take care,

David
