The Pond

By earlyriser Friday, March 04, 2011

This is draft of a visualization aid. It isn't complete, but I was wondering what you all think..good or bad.

The pond

Imagine if you will, walking in a forest, sunlight filtering down from Heaven through the massive towering trees as God shines His glory upon the earth. A slow, methodical, winding dirt path blazes a trail up a hill covered with orange, red, tan and yellow leaves. Hearken to the sound they produce when crunching under foot. Your mind begins to relax. A cool, deliberate, gentle breeze whisks by, bringing the fresh air of summer wafting to your nose. You take a deep breath that fills you up, holding it in for just a moment. You exhale slowly as a calmness embraces your mind and soul. Birds sing enchanting songs from their tree top perches. Crickets chirp instrumental melodies of peace and love. Butterflies flutter through the air with the grace of a ballerina. On top of the hill, flanked by trees on three sides sits a serene pond with water as smooth as glass. Lily pads with flowers abloom float lazily on the waters' edge. Dense colonies of sausage shaped cattail spikes line the moist banks. An old moss covered wooden dock with rusted nails stands silently hugging the shore. Dragonflies gently touch the water for just a second and fly away. Bullfrogs croak a solemn tune. Narcissus flowers bend over to see themselves in the calm clear water. Buzzing bees work their way from blossom to blossom. White clouds drift by in the otherwise clear blue sky. Peace and serenity are found here. The world is at ease. No worries abound. Troubles cannot enter. This is paradise in all its great glory.

Hi David,

The visualization is beautiful.  Ir could be a good image to read aloud and picture vividly in your head.  It was certainly calming.
