Music, lights, action!

By earlyriser Thursday, November 17, 2011

I haven't listened to music in a couple of days and it shows. My mood has been dark a bit. Music brings light into my life which breeds action. Recovery is all about action, that's why there are 12 steps and not an elevator! 12 days "sober" now.

I think I'm getting a cold. My throat hurts when I swallow and is scratchy. Not like Frappe who is itchy and scratchy..sorry for the rhyme.

Last night for the park committee meeting I made chicken noodle soup. They loved it and ate all of it!! Well except the bit I spilled in the car and the two bowls Margaret ate and the bowl I ate. We also had hotdogs and garlic bread. I am going to Sams Club today to see about having a bake sale there. The committee made me "The Baker Embassador."

I delivered a bed to a church member. It was quite a distance between the two places. As I was driving it began to sprinkle. I prayed that it wouldn't rain hard until I got the bed to his house. It didn't, but as I was leaving his house it began to rain harder. I thanked God.

I am going to a funeral at 1pm today. My teacher at the state hospital died. She was very kind, good and dear to me. She was there for me in my dire time of need. I often wondered about her. I wish I could've told her how grateful I am for her guidance back then. Her husband just died on Monday.

I guess that's all for now. I hope you all have the best day possible and remember live, love, laugh, learn, listen.

David

Hi David the Baker,

I might catch up to your culinary skills yet.  I used a recipe to cook linguine with scallops, brown butter and peas for a friend last night.  You brown panko breadcrumbs mixed with lemon zest and mix this with tarragon and the linguine butter and peas.

It was delicious.

I understand how cooking can be a comfort.

We had lovely weather here today and I browsed the holiday vendors with a friend.  I got my father a sweater for his birthday.  It's blue and matches the color of his eyes.

Have a good night.

Regards,

Chris
