Hi I am punitha suresh chennaivasi who has started Schizophrenia Sharing Society in Chennai.

Coming in terms with the facts that u r a sz is very difficult.The stigma and myth surrounding sz are so pervasive that u feel a great deal of shame.Talk about the stress in the family.i was truly devastated that htis could happen to me,i am suffering from paranoid sz for the last ten years and have three relapses.

i have started taking meds on a regular basis.my continued compliance with this medcation has enabled me to live an abubdant life,i have learnt to cope and to thrive.

i welcome persons who have this illness in and around chennai,the road is rough and tough but it is possible to overcome the hardships of this devastating illness for there light at the end of the road.

Let us all learn to live again

hi punitha.....i was trying to find a skizo society in india on the google search engine...i found your site...i really wanna donate some petty amount every month to the skizo society. So i will be needing your help. Please mail to me about your feedback.....there could be people who cannot afford the medicines and sessions.

Hi I have a relative who is suffering from this disease but is in denial. Did you take any medication and how can we help this person. Life has become miserable for the people around her. Can you suggestion some good specialist who can be consulted

I was on denial as u can know it affected the peace of the family especially my hubby,on my third relapse he came and took me by force which is called involuntary admission,then i had ECT done for a week and then i was admitted in a rehab centre wher i actually came to my senses and realised i had an illness which should be cured,plz enquire in the nearby psychiatiric hospital they will send some ward guys to bring your relative by force ie they might inject her by saying that they are coming from the corporation and they want to inject for some illness like dengue,they did that similarly to one of my relative.and got her admitted by force,in which part of india is she in and what are the symptoms?

Hi Punitha

My uncle also has schizophrenia..he was diagnosed at a young age, but was managing beautifully until he lost the job he had held for several years. Now I'm desperately looking for some kind of job for him. Perhaps a clerical job or something like that. He would run errands for the company he worked for and do simple accountancy etc.

Do you know of any organisation that could help out? SCARF we already tried. The first job was through them. Now they cannot help out.

So please let me know if you are aware of anything.
