Tuesday, June 03, 2008 at 09:35 AMMany thanks for your note of welcome and kind words. Actually, the journal is mine, not my son's. That's what I asked if it would be appropriate. You think it would be ok?

Friday, June 06, 2008 at 04:22 PMHello Sz Parent,
You are most welcome here, as is everyone who post.
We are the only community on the Web where family members and those diagnosed with schizophrenia can keep blog entries, without having to be "chosen" by the Web master. So any time you want to post, you certainly can.
Also, please note: at some time in the future, I will be seeking family members (mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives) to interview over the phone for a focus group about coping with a loved one's schizophrenia. You may be interested in reading this blog entry when it does post. I will be sending a call out for interviewees shortly.
Again, welcome!
Best regards,
Chris

Keeping 'in touch', keeping 'afloat', sz enters the family

Friday, August 08, 2008 at 09:56 AMTom,
have just come across your posting and am glad it has received welcoming responses. I have recently joined this site, which seems very caring, and have been encouraged.
Like you I have been thinking of putting up a journal entry,if it would be OK, as I believe it will help me as parent to a dear son struggling with this disease. (Our son now 28 and as yet not formally diagnosed, therefore wthout treatment as yet)
Will look out and forward to your posts,
Good luck

Welcome to the Connection. I'm sorry to hear that your son has sz. I hope you will find peace and support here. I would love to read your son's journals. There also is a place on this site for family members. Feel free to write in youself, your insights could help another family dealing with a sz member.
Sincerely,
David
