What a great weekend.  I finally made it to a regular AA meeting.  Now the big challenge is to share.  I contanstly rehearse what I plan to say, so I think it is time.  After all, if I can't overcome this fear, how will I be able be a fun, productive and loving father.  I hav...

Thanks, I will have a great week (hopefully).

Congrats for taking the steps to A.A. and NAMI therapy.      I never had a problem with alcohol, but I did abuse street drugs.     They are both forms of "self - medication".

It's a big issue.   So many people with a mental illness self medicate, that it's gotten out of control.    In my home town, people are treated for drug and alcohol addictions by the same govt body that treats mental illness.

    I wish you much success.

That's good you made it to AA. It is a great source for recovery. I have been sober 19 years thanks to AA. Don't worry too much about sharing...do it when the time is right for you.

Take care and have a good week!
