We have said our goodbyes ..
'Our' swallows have now flown with their successful broods reared in the barns and fully fledged .
Their recent excited 'limbering up', an inspiring whirl of wings and chattering mutual encouragement on our power cables in recent days preceded an unannounced energetic dawn 'lift off' starting that brave journey to warmer climes . Au revoir!
It would be like a vacuum but a proud and handsome young male(european) robin now claims the spot on the cable to open his throat and sing his heart out in autumn song....He will keep us company in winter, with a wistful though companionable song in the shorter days.
As I walk the dog at dusk I catch glimse of a skein of geese travelling powerfully east ,their calls a deeply moving sound in the heavens ,signalling their flight path to icy wastes: a humbling lesson in mutual support and encouragement, and optimism .....Until next spring!!

Chris,
That was a beautiful way of saying a very important fact. This transition (Adam's diagnosis) has at times been adsolutely devistating, but reading posts like that are just what I need. I have a new motto that I got from a dad eho's son was @ the rtc and who now chooses homelessness. "Progress not Perfection." I am working on this one big time. Patience is not my strength, but this helps reduce my anxiety level.
Take Care,
Kathy
Well, thanks Kathy, so glad it meant something to you...
I do believe this technology can be wonderful, and link and connect between caring individuals otherwise perhaps feeling isolated, disempowered...to join forces and feel strengthened.....in our struggles and our love....
