Hopeless Romantic

By David Robbins Sunday, February 14, 2010

Happy St. Valentine's Day.

I am a hopeless romantic. When I looked up the history of this day, its not exactly clear where and how this day started.

At any rate this day is for showing those you love, love. Love should be showed everyday of the year. Not just in material gifts, but in acts of love, like a kiss, hug, back rub, a smile, a love letter, putting down the toilet seat, putting the dishes away, cooking or baking, listening, an arm around the shoulder, grasping an outstretched hand. These things mean more than a diamond ring.

Music plays an important role as well. Love songs are my favoroite kind of music. I have several playing in my head.

Love is good, kind, compassionate, emapthetic, soft, pleasant, gentle, to name a few. Love is something that must be shared. Love of self is good, but not poofed up.

I remember in grade school, we gave cards out. Not just to the girls but to the boys. It didn't matter. It showed we at the very least cared for all. What a simple time it was.

I tell Margaret everyday that I love her. I say it alot. It means so much to both of us.

Our life started with a slow dance. Her head on my shoulder was the best feeling I ever had. It felt sooo right.

Watch out for parking meters and pull the weeds.

Take good care of the ones you love and that ones that love you..
