I just Robin's sharepost. I would like to add to it. I worked in cafe for many years. The last two of my working years, I was the manager. During my tenure I learned a great deal. I greeted my customers when they came in, regardless if I was having a bad day. Customers were my life blood. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have a job. I learned their names. I smiled and joked with them. Having schioaffective disorder meant little. I couldn't let my illness dictate how I treated others. The old saying goes "you get more bees with honey."
I really big on customer service. I watch how people are treated when I shop or dine out. What happened to friendly service people? Recently I went to a new diner in town. First of all the hostess was stuffy. The waitress came and took our drink orders. When she asked what I was having I replied "Italian Wedding soup and a toss salad. She exclaims "That's it!." There's grocery store that has the most rude employees. One time I filled out a comment card detailing the horrible ways the associate treat customers. Even my own pdoc has service issues. I've been in session with him when his cell phone rings.
Why is this happening? Has society forgotten it's nice to be nice?
When a business that has good service I carve an artifcial pumpkin for them around Halloween. It's my way of showing my gratitude. Honey attracts more bees. I was in the hospital earlier this. I filled out a comment card, telling the staff what a wonderful job they did caring for me.
I've gone on enough. Thank you for your time.
Live, love, laugh, learn, listen,
Dave
P.S. If someone does something nice, thank them. There's too much negativity these days.
