early morning musings

By David Robbins Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Feeling good today. Voices are so quiet right now that I forgot I have em.

I made the White Texas Sheet cake. Margaret showed me what a jelly pan is. It's a sheet pan with small sides. Silly me I thought it was a cookie sheet. Anyway the cake was disappointing. The frosting was good, the cake..eh. Not one of my better ventures.

It was hazy, hot and humid yesterday. I was in the pool alot. So was Teddy. We bought him a water toy. He loved it. I would throw it and he'd jump in and get it. I had to take it away so he wouldn't destroy it.

I see my pdoc today. I'm sure he's gonna ask about my fear of dying on the ECT table. I hope he doesn't make lite of it. He has a way of dismissing my concerns.

My daughter is coming over today to do her laundry. I don't mind that. Maybe this weekend I could see my grandson. I love that boy so much. If it's warm enough we could go swimming.

Today I'm gonna cook a spiral ham, smashed potatoes, and corn.

Let's see..voices, check...pool, check...pdoc, check... dogs, check, family, check, food, check. Well I think I covered everything.

so I thought..LOL!

If I were brave enough I'd go in the pool right now. It's not too dark out. The shed scares me though.

Thank you all once again. This site has made a world of difference in my life. You people rock!!

Live, love, laugh, learn, listen,

I just called my Mom (she turns 82 in July) and asked if she wants to go walking at the mall today.  She said yes, so we will meet about 10am.  I have to slow down for her, but that is okay.  She is a lot of fun to be with; I want to make the best of our time together.  It is already 78 (the low for the night) here this morning.  And cloudy, like ran is close.  I'm listening to the Moody Blues' "Nights in White Satin" on iTunes.  I even found a video of it on YouTube from '67!  It stirs my heart.  It makes me think of my sister who is gone now -- she loved the music of the 60's.  The day welcomes me and so I move forward into enjoying it.

Thanks for the Shareposts, Dave.     They make interesting reading.    I am alone and don't have a lot of social contact in my life so  glimpse into someone elses life helps the day go by.      Thanks again and keep up the good work!
