Been up a while chatting with some friends.

The voices are gone right now. I talked my way out of em. The distraction of talking helped. I hope one day they will go away for good. I will always have hope.

LeRoy Douglas said "Hope is one of those things in life you cannot do without."

Life is good. I feel alive and energetic. My fears are on the back burner. My face is to the sun. The wind is at my back. My feet are on the ground.

I was 17 when I was committed. I made a choice that led me to this day. I decided to always look for the next open door. I have waited patiently in the hall many times for the next door to open. Plus I haven't walked into any parking meters, lately.

I could lay down and let life go by. That ain't gonna happen.

Affirmations are new to me. I didn't realize the power and fortitude they bring. SEE? Another door opened. I'm glad that I have lived long enough to see a total change in myself.

Is it all about me? For the sake of this sharepost it is. I write these shareposts to help. They help me by getting my thoughts out where I can see them. It is my hope that they help others as well. In AA they talk about experience, strength and hope. Being an "old man" ( that's what my son calls me) I have alot of experience, some strength, and everlasting hope.

William Durant said "Forget past mistakes. Forget failures. Forget about everything except what you're going to do now - and do it."

I have a busy day ahead. I made about 75 mini cupcakes that I have to frost. I wanna go to the flea market. I get scrubbies and sponges there at a good price. I want to take some stuff upstairs that is piling up.

Have a good day and take care, and always remember to,

Live, love, laugh, learn, listen,

Dave

Hi Dave,

You help yourself as well as others by writing your SharePosts and helping yourself isn't selfish, it's healthy and must be done to promote your mental health.

So write on, because you are right on!

Cheers,

Christina

David,

Your posts help me enormously. My son was diagnosed with SZ a few years ago and I find reading your posts very encouraging. Thanks so much for taking the time to write such thoughtful posts.

Hey Dave; Did I mention the two magizines: BP & Esperanaza? I have an interview in the latest issue of Esperenaza. Will call later today; your friend Jim Blaha

My friend that had sz said he forgets what it was like and says he prefers it that way. Keep blocking it out and it could be that you forget what it was like too.
