What does the song say?

By David Robbins Friday, September 04, 2009

WDAVE radio is playing the Billy Joel song "Turn em on turn em on turn on those sad song to iron out the rough spots."

I'm trying to figure out, why a certain song plays when I wake. Sometimes that's the reason I wake up. There must a meaning, There has to be some correlation to what's going on in my life that triggers certain songs. Music has always been a relief. It has been the one constant that has a lasting effect. I cook with music playing. I would rather listen to music than watch tv. That's something I will look into futher. I must have an open mind and be honest with what I find.

My daughter and grandson were here to do laundry. When I pulled up Dylan saw it was me and his face lit up. I so love to see his smile. I got out of the car, scooped him up, gave him a great big hug and kiss and looked him right in the eye and told him I love him. He is so cool. The Tedster, aka the bull, loves Dylan. Dylan is Tedd'y size. Teddy likes to play. He's so big that he overpowers Dylan. Anyway it was nice to have them over.

I got the porch cleaned. I feel better when I go out  there.

**Warning food content approaching**...lol! Today I'm gonna bake some mini apple pies. I love apple pies and haven't made one in years.

Been doing alot of retail therapy. The other day I bought a $32 bowtie for $6! Yesterday I bought a $42 dress shirt for $11.

This journal has gotten longer than I thought. I will leave it at this, for I have to work on my project.

Peace to all.

Live, love, laugh, learn, listen,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I too have been saved by music.  I was a disc jockey on the FM radio before I got sick.  After I was released from the hospital, I pined for my glory days as an on-air personality.  That was never to be again.  My time as a disc jockey was one of the happiest times in my early life and after I got sick I wanted to go back and re-create that experience.

As you do, I don't watch TV either and prefer to listen to music.  You should download iTunes to your computer so you can listen to 100s of radio stations for free, if you haven't done this already.  Just Google "iTunes" and the website should come up with the button to click to download this music service.

Personally, I would run for the hills if I hear Billy Joel in my ear.  I would rather listen to modern rock.  I saw Pat Benatar and Blondie in concert in August.

When I go sign off here, I'm going to e-mail you the key lime pie recipe.

Cheers,

Christina

Good morning Christina,

Thank you for the recipe. I will be trying it out.

Being a disc jockey must have been fun. Playing music and getting paid to do it,... that's cool.

Have a good day!

Dave
