It snowed here. We received about 5". Yesterday I went outside about 6am and started to snowblow the sidewalks. The machine worked on two passes up my side of the street. I tried to use it across the street but since the snow was wet and heavy the blower couldn't handle it. I then shoveled the sidewalks across the street. I was out there an hour and a half. A couple up the street were out shoveling too. I helped them and they thanked me. I said my doctor wanted me to lose weight, so it was my pleasure. As I was shoveling I saw a car in a neighbors driveway with the lights on. I didn't know what to do. Finally I decided that if it were my car I wouldn't want a battery to go dead. So I knocked on his door. The guy was happy that I told him. The street was quiet while I was out there. The snow hung onto the trees. It felt like a mother's hug. It enveloped me.
When I got done, I told Margaret that if I were a teenager I'd be out with a shovel looking to make some money. No sooner after I said that, two teenagers walked down the street with shovels. I went out and told them they were too late. They said they were sorry, to which I said "don't let it happen again." LOL!
I thought about how good it is to have snow. First is helps the water table in the ground. Second I need the excercise. Third if I were in school it would have been a snow day. Fourth since the school was out there were more people in stores. Fifth the ski slopes are open, so there's more money going out to the economy.
Life is good. I say that alot because its true. My health is okay..a little neck pain, but otherwise I'm doing good. My dad and I talk online everyday now. He is telling me stuff from his childhood. It is so wonderful that he is shaing his memories.
The music in my head keeps changing. It's like a 4 disc cd player. Right now there's two songs playing at the same time. "Little Duece Coup" and "Merry Christmas Reindeer." Not only do I multitask but now the music is too. While I was out doing sidewalks I kept hearing lyrics. Its cool because I don't need batteries or headphones.
I've stared at this screen for a few minutes.. Actually I was multitasking.
Take care and be thankful for the day.
Live, love, laugh, learn, listen,
David

Hi Dave,
Alas I don't like the snow! I like the holidays because when I go to see my psychiatrist in the City I can see the Cartier building decorated all festive.
It is good you have your health and can shovel snow. The snow blower must also make it easier.
Though I certainly couldn't live in a place that had only two seasons: Winter and August, as Upstate New York is joked about.
Cheers,
Christina
