Musician - Illustrator - Writer - Creative Thinker - Explorer - Mental Sk'illness Ambassador..

Hello there! My name is Heidi and as the front woman and songworker of Hotel Echo, a fantastic band moving stodgy old boundries one show at a time, I am proud to say that with schizophrenia I have become the best person I could ever have set out to be.

After appearing on Andrew Denton's excellent documentary about mental health called 'Angels & Demons', I have met an extraordinary amount of people around the world, all finding their way through this tangled disease. All of us share a similar thread, we are all creative genius!

I hope to keep meeting everyday people who are living like Christopher Columbus, all charting new territory in each new day we wake up.

Hi Heidi,

You are a gifted siner and songwriter and I listened to the interviews and your music on the link to "Angels and Demons."

Would love to hear more music from you.

Feel free to write SharePosts any time.

Best wishes,

Christina

Hi Christina,

I thought that was funny how you wrote siner/singer. I think to be a good songwriter, you do need to have sinned! Or did you mean signer? I can do that too, when Im really angry..

Ive still got to get the hang of the SharePosts, so I will take your suggestion and have a go.

As for my music, Im just about to go into the studio and record some songs for a new release, so Im really excited about that. Here's a song for you now: La La lala la laaa (please insert your own melody)

Hi Heidi,

Your comment notice was sent to my junk folder so I didn't see it until now.

Would love you to let us know when the DVD comes out for purchase.

Cheers,

Christina

Hi Christina, Thankyou for all your lovely comments, they really mean a lot to help keep away all those bad ol' mean ones that seem to always outweigh the good ones! Can i put them in my pocket?

This is a link to view the Angels & Demons doco (not the film);

Its an Aussie release, but if you ask at your entertainment outlets, they will get it in for you (its an ABC/Roadshow release) either that, or just ask your local library to put it on their catalogue.

Hope you are going well, do you have any pets?

Cheers to you too, Heidi

Hi Heidi,

Well, I have no pets, though my niece and nephew got a "real cat" from Santa as a Christmas present last year.  They named her, guess what, Sandy because she is sand-colored.

Alas, I couldn't afford to take care of a cat or dog and I'm not fond of pets in general.

Sorry.

You must love pets, if you have them.

Cheers,

Chris

Singer, you are a gifted singer, not siner, of course.

Sorry.

Hi Heidi,

I'm also a visual artist and a songwriter and I suffer from schizophrenia.  I wish I could listen to your music and watch the documentary you are in, but I don't have a Flash Player installed on my computer.  I did get to see some of your illustrations on your website and they are great.  You are obviously a very talented woman!  If you would like to see some of my art work go to http://www.artid.com/SecondSight or visit my Yin And Yang blog-- http://wanderer62.blogspot.com/  I would love to get to know you better.  I think the fact that I stay creative has been a large part of my ongoing recovery.  I really respect you for being open about your illness and proud of your creative achievements.  Keep it coming!

Hello Kate,

What country are you in? I can easily find out where you can access a copy of the DVD. I'll tell you a secret. Im feeling rather chubby right now, Ive just eaten all the easter eggs I bought for my family. It means I'll have to get up early tomorrow and go to the shops and buy them all again. Aar, the joys of being a woman!

I will definately have a look at your artworks on the websites you told me.

I will write again soon...

xxHeidi
