Death by Credit Card

By daolotusbear Thursday, December 20, 2007

I pulled out my phone and called for a tow truck to give me a jump. Luckily I started a road service program from my telephone company. The truck came for free. I drove the car to my mechanic, he said it was a dead battery and it was going to cost me $200 to fix the problem.

I felt like I was in a vice that was squeezing my brains out. I paid the mechanic and went to a meeting. The meeting was on acceptance, I was relieved to learn that many people were over wrought with debt, and I didn't feel so alone. I sat with one of the old timers and he confessed that he charged up his credit cards to a tune of a hundred thousand dollars. After five years he is still paying off the debt one day at a time. He said that when he gets a bill in the mail, he blesses the balance and writes a check blessing the credit card company with his money. He went on to say that blessing his debt has given him freedom from self doubt, and self loathing. He feels his debt may never be paid off and he knows that he might be in debt for the rest of his life. He said when he blesses the credit card debt he give his love to the universe thereby receiving peace of mind.

I went home after that discussion and reflected on my debt. I then went on the computer and found the out standing balances that I held. I blessed each balance saying a prayer of thanks. Sending my love into the universe that night I slept deeply and restfully as the love came back to me in dreams of abundance. I no longer feel like I'm a victim. I feel connected and at peace with my debt. I still have dreams of winning the lottery and I might play a buck worth once in a while. I know if I bless my plight I can receive great blessing in return.

I was afraid I knew how your journal entry was going to end: badly.  I though it would end with you still cursing yourself and your debt.  What a pleasant turn of events to find you are blessing your creditors and the money you send them.  You have been blessed with peace of mind in return.  Merry Christmas!
