It is thankfully turning into Spring now, which means warmer and more livable! I hope to do more exercise, and I have also been accepted into a distance course bridging Chemistry and Maths for entry into university next year. It is a major step for me, into hopefully a job in a health related fiel...

    Hello MyAnimus,

    Just read your post now.

Is orlistat the generic for Alli?  Here in the states we have an over-the-counter weight loss pill that is the only one FDA-approved.

Where would you like to study?

I admire that you want to work in the mental health field.

We need people like you (and others) to advocate for us.

    Good luck.

    Regards,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

The generic name for Orlistat is Xenical. I'm not sure if it is available in the US, as mine is from a NZ pharmacy. It is a prescription one but it is available in Australia OTC apparently. There are no laws restricting it to be sent to Japan either, so I was lucky. I must say though, after a week of using it I have not noticed any major differences aside from my bowel movements! The package says wait around 2 weeks before weight loss.

     I am eagerly waiting!

Thanks for the encouragement regarding my study. Eventually I would like to study at Monash University in Melbourne. It is a good university. There is a particular course there I have had my eye on. It includes an honours year and research if one decides to go that far... but also has an elective in First Year. I wanted to take a subject to do with mental health. This might even get me a job in the field! Anything is fine with me at first of course.
