Overcome

By Nate Tuesday, May 15, 2007

For those with schizophrenia or any other disorder like bi-polar who have co-morbidity with depression that causes social anxiety, I feel for you and I've walked in those shoes for a long time. My recommendation is to put yourself out there, face your fears, I understand that it can be hard, or feel embarassing when your hallucinations or speech becomes mixed up with the moment. Take your time and ease yourself into the world, you'll be surprised at how quickly you open your eyes to reality, making friends and building lasting relationships with others. At first you will struggle with yourself deep down, anxiety will overcome you though after awhile you will learn like many others how easy it is to be yourself and always remember that your not the center of attention unless you make it that way. Always remember to take a deep breath and soon you'll be back to normal and interacting

like those who take the process for granted.

I can't tell from your post if you suffer from any type of Mental Illness but Thank you for the words of encouragement. I know where you are coming from because I have found what you have said to be true and I believe it is possible to live a pretty normal life even if one suffers from a Mental Illness. Thanks again and I hope your words inspire others suffering from Mental illness!
