Well, 5 months after the meeting where we signed the papers agreeing to send our son to a residential treatment center, we delivered him last Friday safely and soundly. He was trying to convince us and himself that he didn't need to be there. We told him we were just trying it out to see how it would go. Yesterday when talking to the customer relations person, ( a liason between our son and us,) I found out he is doing well. He had made it through 2 full days of school, he was making friends, and getting along well. He had been isolated from his friends here due to their poor choices and his social anxiety. I am so thankful for this program. I am so thankful for those who have steered me in this direction. I feel like this will make a huge difference in his recovery process. He will receive individual, group, recreational, and family therapy (via skype.) He will go through substance abuse classes, finish high school and have many opportunites to try new things including horseback riding. He is getting exercise daily, eating healthy food and learning life skills. Although I miss him terribly, I know in my heart that this is the best place that my son could be. Thank you to Dave and Christina for helping to get me to this place. It was a very difficult decision, but now one that I am so proud of making.
Kathy. (Adam's mom)
