well the reason schizophrenics are over weight its the meds often the doctor prescribes it at the max dose...and this isnt for everyone...also i have been symptom free for four years...with out meds...i manage my house hold pay my bills...and see my doctor...i was on all the different meds for over 10 years in and out of the hospital over weight...i lost all my hair and had high blood pressure and the beginnings of diabetes...although i think the meds are ok for some i dont think they are the right answer for everyone....after stopping meds the voices went away and my hair grew back i have lost weight and have my sugar and chlostral under control...i eat right and exercise....and  enjoy  the things i like things i couldnt enjoy while on the meds....i have learned to cope with stress and stay away from people who dont understand mental illness....i sleep a full 8 hours every night something i couldnt do while taking meds....i have friends that i socialize with and have a wonderful and caring man in my life that never believed i needed all that medicine...he asked me to stop taking it and see what happens and that was four years ago....no symptoms, no voices no paranoia, no thoughts of suicide,  also around this time i was saved and became a christian, and i truly believe in the power of jesus christ...i believe god can heal the afflicted....the lord can move a mountain he has moved me...god bless cherie
