What a strange week of weather! Personally I want just to express my gratitude for being able to post here.  It's the only place I can post some humorous cartoons and not worry about having to be so upbeat and positive.  That's what I have to do on my blog... It's like when you facilitate a...

Your cartoons were funny. I love a good laugh. Lord knows I laugh alot. However, describing a psych unit or hospital as looney, offended me.

I'm very sensitive to the language used to describe the mentally ill.

Not trying to judge you in any way.

    Funny cartoons.

One note: we are NOT "mentally ill," we have mental illnesses.

    Thank you both.

@Dave: I know what you mean about the use of the term... But, that is least offensive term I could use to describe it... I'll keep my eye on my wording. But at the same time we need to be able to look at the contense on how some terms are used.  Case and point your use of "mentally ill"

@Christina : When I used that term I put quotes around it... This is becasue that is the way others might see us, not how I feel... We are people first and we are just living with a disorder, the disorder is not who we are.

"to teach a few others that just because we are "mentally Ill" does not mean we don't have a sense of humor"

Thank you both for commenting...  I know it's hard sometimes to use all the right words since so many can be some what offensive... That is why I feel we need to tap in our sense of humor and be able to laugh off some of them...  We can't please every one but I really feel if we need to pick our battles on the terms we are going to allow to get under our skin... I think if we can do this we will find our lives less stressful.

Why let a word or term used by our fellow peer to offend us... We are all in the same boat and we all can't be the captian...  Me, I'm just a rower paddling my way to recovery while drawing a few cartoons to chart my corse.
