Thanks for writing. Our Schizophrenia Health Professional Dr. Ballas has written two comprehensive articles:Can Schizophrenia Be Inherited? and
Dr. Ballas Answers: Schizophrenia and Children, which discuss the heritability of schizophrenia - including risk factors, probabilities and existing studies - and what to do if your child has been diagnosed.
I hope you find these articles helpful, and please keep your questions coming.
Best of luck!

I dont know how to set her mind to easy.We were told that her fathers disease was due to (a bad hit of acid) or something of the sort, sense there was no family history. Also there was a other man that work with my x that did the same thing months later. My daugther has little/or no contact with her father and she went to see him christmas which I belived made things worst for her(understanding of the disease). He had a bad drug abuse problem then and still to this day . I just would like to know is there anything else I can do or say to help her ?
