About Me

I am co-author of the memoir, DIVIDED MINDS: Twin Sisters and Their Journey through Schizophrenia, and I will be having a book of poetry published next spring, March 2009 (WE MAD CLIMB CRAZY LADDERS.) Although we -- my twin sister, a psychiatrist, and I have cut down significantly, we still occasionally do speaking events about schizophrenia. I wish we did more. In my spare time I keep a blog, WAGblog, at schizophrenia.com. I make silver and copper wire and bead jewelry. Also large and small papier mâché sculptures. My cat, Eemie, likes to sleep on my computer while I am using it, but has to make do with snoozing on my head while I sleep! We face the world and my life with paranoid schizophrenia/bipolar together and we are currently doing a very good job of it, I'm happy to say.

I hope that people who read my profile will come to my blog and read the entries that interest them, and some that might not seem to, from the title...Because they might find words that could help them, or even simply teach them something about the world they did not know. In it I deal with everything from ALS -- Lou Gehrig's Disease -- because my dear friend Joe is currently battling for his life with it to my own struggles to keep my head above water when symptoms of bipolar disorder (mania or mixed) and schizophrenia threaten to overwhelm me. From Lyme disease to the greenhouse effect and what we can do about it. I like to think there is something for everyone there! :) All are welcome to comment, moreover, and comments are thoroughly enjoyed by all, but especially by me!

Well, that's enough for my profile. But if it interests you, do go to WAGblog at schizophrenia.com/pam  and take a gander. You can write to me from the email address given there.
