I couldn't figure out how to enter this post under the "questions" forum, so I am putting it here.

I was watching a TV special on the plasticity of the brain last night.  It suddenly occurred to me that I used to be driven to discover and learn (most of my lfie.)  I used to read constantly about a wide variety of subjects and it was never enough.  But since my illness took a drastic turn for the worse in 1995, I no longer have that drive to learn new things.  What happened?  Is it the medication that has dulled my interest?  Is it a negative symptom of sz?  I made a decision last night to write down 3-4 topics I might be interested in and buy a book about each one and just try to read a little every day and see what happens.
