I have now been on Geodon for a little over 2 weeks.  I have lost from 176 to 168, which is a wonderful start.  And so soon, too.  I didn't have to wait to start feeling the GOOD side effects.  It is making me hypomanic, too, which feels great after 11 yrs of sleeping 12-14 hrs a day and feeling groggy the rest of the day.  I am not having any trouble sleeping now, either.  I tried Geodon once before and the insomnia was so bad that I had to go back to Zyprexa, my old standby.  Zyprexa helped me reconnect my thoughts so that I didn't derail as much, and I think it helped get rid of the depression, and it kept me out of the hospital, which was essential.  But it so nice to find Geodon is working now.

My primary care doc also doubled my thyroid medication two days ago, which will boost my metabolism and make it even easier to lose weight!  It is nice to go to doctors and have good things happen instead of bad.

So things are going well right now.  I am starting to attend church, go to lunch with friends, calling people on the phone just to talk, all things I hadn't done much of in the last decade.  I'm even thinking of starting painting lessons with a fellow artist.
